Smyrna Public Safety Foundation
The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF) is a 501(c) non-profit corporation. Its mission is to encourage and strengthen the partnership between the Community and its Public Safety Personnel. The SPSF uses funds to pay for a variety of programs, including:
1. SHOP WITH A HERO: Local youth spend a morning holiday shopping with police officers and firefighters,then are treated to a lunch-time celebration. Additionally, a full holiday meal is delivered to their families. For many, this is the highlight of their holiday season.
2. BENEVOLENT FUND: Provides financial support for public safety employees (and/or their families) in time of extreme need.
3. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS: Funds such programs as women's self defense, child car-seat safety, First Tee Golf, neighborhood visits, and other activities to foster community relationships with residents. .
4. ANNUAL PUBLIC SAFETY AWARDS: Recognizes individual Smyrna firefighter and police officer heroes for their bravery and commitment to keeping Smyrna safe.
